Our 5th to 8th grade class meets every Sunday except first and fifth Sundays. This classroom is doing “Neighboring Faiths”. This very popular UU curriculum seeks to explore many world religions. Working from Judaism to Christianity (Catholic and Protestant) with visits to several of these churches in the beginning of the year the youth get a foundation to understand the roots of Unitarian Universalism. The second half of the year explores Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Native American religions, and a few others. In general the theme is how UU draws from many spiritual sources, that no religion is “right or wrong” and that there are many ways to be spiritual, and it is up to each person to choose their path. For more information, contact Kathy Neff, the middle school class coordinator.
First Sundays of the month have a one room activity for youth of all ages. Fifth Sundays are multigenerational services, and the youth will participate in the service in our Sanctuary.
